The Elms Motor Inn is conveniently located close to the centre of Tumut. From here you can experience many of the local restaurants or, if you are feeling adventurous you can explore what the Tumut Valley region has to offer.

Mountain biking - The Tumut Region has hundreds of kilometres of  trails winding through native and plantation forests. The Tumut fetsival of the falling leaf mountian bike race is held annually each year in April. More information here

 

Canoeing and Kayaking - The Tumut River Canoe and Kayak Trail starts underneath the Blowering Dam wall, and follows the river to its junction with the Murrumbidgee River just up stream of Gundagai. For more inforamtion and a trail map to download click here

Bushwalking - Tumut is an ideal base to access the Hume and Hovell walking track. You can also explore some of the most magnificent parts of Kosciuszko National park. Information on many formal walks in the park can be found here

4WD's - Pack up the fourby and take the alternate route from Canberra to Tumut. Follow the scenic Brindabella road through Pine plantations and native forests. You can also follow the western shores of Blowering Dam, take the back roads to Batlow or explore the northern end of Kosciuszko National Park. Route information here


Fishing -Try your hand at fly fishing from the headwaters of the mighty Murrumbidgee stocked with trout to the Blowering Dam boasting some of the biggest Murray Cod in the country. Tumut Fishing Camping and Outdoor can point you in the right direction.
